HLRS PARALLEL PROGRAMMING WORKSHOP FALL 2002

Sep. 23-27 HLRS Stuttgart Parallel Programming (50% / 50%)
(5-day course in English if required)

The aim of this workshop is to give people with some programming
experience an introduction into the basics of parallel programming.
The focus is on programming models, MPI and OpenMP,
domain decomposition, load balancing and parallel numerics.
Language support is given for Fortran, C and C++.
The course was developed by HLRS, EPCC, NIC and ZHR.
Hands-on sessions will allow users to test and understand the basic
constructs of MPI and OpenMP.
Message Passing with MPI is the major programming model on
large distributed-memory systems in high-performance computing.
OpenMP is dedicated to shared memory systems.
Lectures will be given by Panagiotis Adamidis, Holger Berger,
Thomas Boenisch, Uwe Kuester, Marc Lange, Dr. Matthias Mueller, and
Dr. Rolf Rabenseifner (member of MPI-2 Forum).
The course language is English (if required).
All slides and handouts are in English.
