Members of the AXP mailing list,

I am please to be able to tell you, that RedHat 7.2 for Alpha is finally
ready and will be officially announced tomorrow at:

    http://www.support.compaq.com/alpha-tools/redhat

I have just setup up one of the official mirror sites at:

    ftp://alpha.crl.dec.com/pub/linux/redhat/7.2-alpha/release-isos/

This mirror site needs to be tested. We were hoping that some of the members
of the AXP list would like to test this mirror by downloading the ISO images.
:-)

If this test mirror site becomes busy, please do not mirror these ISO images
without making some arrangements John.Goshdigian@hp.com or myself. The
statistics from these downloads will be used to determine the coarse of
future Alpha releases / distributions. A list of mirrors will be available
tomorrow from the "support" (see: above) web site.

At this time HP (not RedHat) will be providing the support for this
distribution. Please report any problems or bugs to:

    http://alpha.crl.dec.com/bugzilla

I would like to thank:

    Phil "Bryce" Copeland @ Redhat,
    John Goshdigian @ HP,
    Ed Yee @ HP,
    Jay Estabrook @ HP,
    Thomas Sharbaugh @ HP,
    Phil.Sullivan @ HP,
    Jeff Wiedemeier @ HP

This distribution would not have been possible without their extraordinary
efforts.

Best Regards,

--George
