Abstract
   This course is dedicated for scientists and students to learn
   (sequential) programming with Fortran for scientific applications.
   The course teaches newest Fortran standards. The beginners part
   is based on the RRZN handbook "Fortran 95". Hands-on sessions will
   allow users to immediately test and understand the language
   constructs.
Content
   Fortran syntax overview
    - Basics - Program units - Dynamic data - IO
   Features of Fortran 95
   Obsolete features of Fortran
   Fortran 95 intrinsics
   Features of Fortran 2003
   Fortran Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
   Program optimisation for single processor performance
Language
   German (all slides are in English).
Teachers
   Uwe Küster, Peter Lammers, Harald Klimach from HLRS
Registration
   via online registration form, see

Deadline
   for registration is Mar. 2, 2008
Fee
   Students of German universities: none
   Members of German universities and German public research institutes: none
   others: 200 EUR
   (will be collected on the first day of the course, cash only)
Prerequisites
   Familiarity with Linux and Linux editors is recommended.
   Basic mathematics (integration and differentiation).
Literature and textbooks
   The RRZN Handbook "Fortran 95" is sold at the course: 10 Euro.
   Participants will also receive a free copy of the slides.
